Biodiversity conservation is set to become the next major challenge for investment, as climate change risk mitigation and adaptation take a back seat. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is supporting this transition by fostering three systemic changes: transitioning to sustainable business models that protect biodiversity and ecosystem services, changing the way in which various sectors operate, and changing the operations that governments subsidize.

IFC's Biodiversity Finance Reference Guide

The IFC's Biodiversity Finance Reference Guide is the first of its kind on the market, and it is designed to help channel private investment into biodiversity conservation. The guide provides an indicative list of investment activities and components that help protect biodiversity, as well as a framework for assessing the biodiversity impacts of investments.
