This is the sixth meeting between Spain and France at a major tournament. France won three of the first four, including 2-0 in the EURO 1984 final and 2-1 in the EURO 2000 quarter-finals. Spain won the most recent meeting, 2-0 in the EURO 2016 round of 16.

Spain lost to Italy on penalties in the semi-finals of EURO 2020, while France lost to Switzerland on penalties in the round of 16. Both teams will be looking to bounce back from those disappointments and win their first UEFA Nations League title.

France will be without Karim Benzema, who is injured. Kylian Mbappe is expected to lead the line for Les Bleus, while Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele will provide support from the wings.
